Rain ruins day after 3 wicket haul for Roach and Ricky get's runs

A rain delay has ruined the fourth day of play in the second test between the West Indies and Australia. At the start of the day Michael Beer claimed his second wicket of the test match when he had West Indian wicket-keeper Carlton Baugh trapped in front of the stumps for 21. He was given LBW and that was when Beer completed the tenth wicket for Australia to bowl the Windies out for 257. In the Australian innings Warner went for 17 when he was caught by Darren Bravo off the bowling of Kemar Roach. Cowan went for 20 when he was given LBW off the bowling of Kemar Roach AGAIN!! And then Shane Watson went for a third ball duck to yes you may not believe it Kemar Roach AGAIN!!! But when Ricky came to the crease for Australia everyone knew even himself knew that he had unfinished business and needed runs and he sort of got them. He sits on an unbeaten innings score of 32 with 2 fours to his name. At stumps on Day 4 Australia are 73 for the loss of 3 wickets all to Kemar Roach. The men at the crease are Ricky Ponting on 32 (57) and the other batsmen is Michael Clarke who is on 3 (12). The current bowlers are Shane Shillingford who has no wickets for 33 runs off 15 overs with 3 maidens. The other bowler is Kemar Roach who has 3 wickets for 27 runs off 10 overs with just 1 maiden. And that is the summary of day 4 in the second test between the West Indies and Australia.

Lyon haul gives Australia favouritism

Nathan Lyon has taken 5 wickets in the West Indies first innings of the second test. Nathan's victims were Narsingh Deonarine, Darren Sammy, Kemar Roach, Shane Shillingford and in form West Indies batsmen Shivnarine Chanderpaul. Lyon was pitching the ball up and bowling the ball fairly accurate towards the stumps which he was then rewarded for his accuracy when he received 5  key wickets for Australia. The West Indies are at a score of 252 for the loss of 9 wickets in their first innings of this second test match between Australia and the West Indies. All the wickets this innings have gone to Hussey:1, Pattinson:1, Hilfenhaus:1 Beer:1 and Lyon:5. The current bowlers are Nathan Lyon who has 5 for 68 off 29 overs with 9 maidens and the other bowler is Michael Beer who has 1 for 52 off 25 overs with 9 maidens as well. The current batsmen at the crease are Fidel Edwards who is on 0 (8) and the other batsmen is the West Indies wicket-keeper Carlton Baugh who is on 16 (67). Nathan Lyon will be pleased with himself and the West Indies won't be pleased with themselves because at one stage the Windies were 230 for just 4 wickets and now they are 252 for the loss of 9 wickets. That is 5 wickets lost in the time that they scored just 22 runs!!!!! So from my opinion Australia are favourites going into day 4 of the second test between the two teams.

Lyon takes his fith as Windies continue to tumble

The West Indie shave just lost their number 10 batsmen Kemar Roach to the bowling of in form off spinner Nathan Lyon. That was Lyon's 5th wicket for the match and the day. Kemar Roach was caught behind by keeper Wade for a score of zero off 13 balls or something similar to that number. The West Indies will be extremely disappointed with their batting as they were 5 for 230 and have slumped to 9 for 249. This is Nathan Lyon's second five wicket haul. His first was in Sri Lanka on his debut test match where he got Kumar Sangakkara out on Lyon's first ball in test cricket for Australia.

Shillingford goes as wickets tumble for Windies

Shane Shillingford has just got to again yes you may not and probably won't believe but he was out to Nathan Lyon. Nathan Lyon has 4 wickets to his name and every wicket he has received so far in this test has been on this very one day. Again Lyon pitched the ball up and Shillingford went for it and was caught by Ed Cowan at short point. Shillingford only managed 4 runs. His 4 runs was a boundary. The men at the crease now are Carlton Baugh on 11 (36) and Kemar Roach is on 0(12). The West Indies are on a total of 246 for the loss of 8 wickets.

West Indies on top even though Bravo, Deonarine, Chanderpaul, Sammy go

The West Indies are on top even though Darren Bravo, Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Narsingh Deonarine have gotten out. The West Indies are on top because Narsingh Deonarine made a solid 55 and Shivnarine Chanderpaul was approaching one hundred but made a solid 94. The wickets today have gone to Michael Hussey, who had Darren Bravo trapped in front of the stumps for a score of 38. Nathan Lyon is the other wicket taker. Lyon took two wickets, his first was when he pitched up the ball and tricked Narsingh Deonarine into charging up the pitch to hit the ball but Deonarine was stumped by Wade. It wasn't the hardest work for Australian wicket-keeper Matthew Wade. Lyon's second wicket was when he trapped main West Indies batsmen Shivnarine Chanderpaul in front of the stumps for a solid 94. Hang on a second, Lyon has just got Sammy out for 1. Michael Hussey caught Sammy near the boundary and there are big celebrations as Sammy can be very destructive with the bat. That is three wickets for Lyon!! I think that Mitchell Starc and Peter Forrest are on the field so there must be two Australian injuries. The score is 241 for the loss of seven wickets and the current batsmen are Baugh and Shillingford.

Early blows put Australia on top in Day 2

3 early wickets have put the Australian test cricket team on top on day 2 of the second test between the West Indies and Australia. Michael Beer returned in this test and was very suprisingly given the new ball and bowled the first over. He was bowling well and pitching the shiny new ball up. He recieved the wicket of opening batsmen Adrain Barath for a score of just 7. Beer trapped him plum LBW. Ben Hilfenhaus and James Pattinson also each recieved early wickets. Hilfenhaus had Kraigg Braithwaite LBW for a duck. James Pattinson also got his wicket with LBW getting Keiran Powell trapped in front of the stumps for 19. The West Indies are at a score of 49 for the loss of 3 wickets in reply to Australia's 1st innings score of 311. In Australia's first innings Michael Hussey had a very important innings of 73. So here is the current indivual performances: current West Indies batsmen: Shivnarine Chanderpaul:1 Darren Bravo: 16 and the current bowling staus is Michael Beer on 1 for 22 of 9.3 overs with 5 maidens and Nathan Lyon is on 0 for 9 off 8 overs with 4 maidens.
